The classic Phang Nga Bay day trip — James Bond Island, sea cave canoeing and Koh Panyee floating village in a traditional longtail boat. Land transfer from Khao Lak to Phang Nga Bay is included; departure from a local pier at approximately 07:30. Smaller, more personal than the big tour-boat experiences. An honest note: because the longtail is slower than a speedboat, you arrive at the main sights slightly later in the day when more tour groups have arrived. Hong Island by Longtailboat

This is the most extraordinary tour we offer anywhere. Departing at 04:00 from Khao Lak, arriving at Hong Island as dawn breaks, and canoeing inside the hong lagoon at first light — when the only sound is birdsong and the only light is the sun beginning to filter down through the limestone walls. No other tourists. No other boats. The hong in the early morning, in complete silence, is something that no photograph adequately captures.
Hong Island canoeing is only possible at specific dates determined by the tide tables. On most days, the tide does not allow entry. This tour is planned around the handful of dates each month when conditions are right. It is rare. It is available only from Khao Lak. And guests who have done it consistently describe it as the single best experience of their entire Thailand trip.
