Half Day Elephant Feeding and Bathing from Khao Lak

If you’re interested in meeting the gentle giants and ensuring that they are treated well, join us for a visit to the ACES-Certified* Elephant Welfare Centre in Phang Nga.

We’ll pick you up directly from your hotel in one of our air-conditioned minivans and take you to a certified animal welfare elephant camp where you can observe the elephants in their natural habitat, watch them interact with others, and learn interesting facts about the lives of Asian elephants.

Before getting into the water with the elephants, you can make your bathing partner happy by feeding her bananas. Don’t forget to bring your bathing clothes, as you’ll be getting wet in the river with the giants. You can play with them, splash them, and cuddle up to them, as long as everyone is having a great time.

At Go Travel Phuket, we are committed to ethical tourism practices. We do not support or endorse elephant camps where animals are mistreated or subjected to riding.

ABOUT ACES
Asian Captive Elephant Standards is the independent, reliable and transparent link between the tourism industry and captive elephant welfare. Our camp guidelines were developed in 2015 and after much consultation we developed a set of over 190 strict camp criteria. All criteria have been independently validated by international specialists in elephant management, veterinary care and animal welfare. Our goal is to ensure Asian elephant welfare while meeting the needs of the community and tourism stakeholders.

Elephant welfare is the most important aspect of elephant tourism, and we engage, support and strengthen the tourism industry’s role in providing excellent standards of elephant care.

We believe in respectful communication and cooperation with elephant camp owners. We do not condone rude or angry behaviour towards camps as this is not in the spirit of responsible travel, harmony or improvement. We prefer to listen and offer help rather than act in a combative manner.
